BNB Chain contract deployments nearly triple to 12.3M in Q3

BNB Chain has reported 12.3 million smart contract deployments in the third quarter of 2026, nearly tripling from 4.5 million in Q2 as the network expanded its AI agent tools and recorded higher transaction activity despite fewer daily active users.

Summary

  • BNB Chain recorded 12.3 million Q3 contract deployments, up approximately 173% from the previous quarter.
  • Unique daily deployers grew 13%, while average daily active addresses declined 14% to 2.10 million.
  • BNB Agent Studio shipped four versions, adding payments, earnings, wallet security and deployment tools.
  • BNB Smart Chain accounted for approximately 61% of tracked ERC-8004 AI agent registrations.
  • Tokenized-equity trading reached $25.6 billion, while network revenue climbed 54% to $54.2 million.

According to BNB Chain’s October 28 update, the figures come from Blockworks’ Q3 token-holder report, which tracks network activity, financial performance and ecosystem development. The report recorded approximately 5,100 unique daily contract deployers, up 13% from the previous quarter, while BNB Agent Studio delivered four versions of its software between July and September.

The expansion followed growing interest in applications that can manage wallets, execute payments and perform transactions automatically. However, the report does not establish how many of the new contracts belong to active decentralized applications, automated deployment systems or AI agents.

BNB Chain deployments rise despite fewer active addresses

Contract deployments climbed approximately 173% quarter over quarter, considerably faster than the growth in unique deployers. The difference suggests that individual deployers created more contracts, although the available figures cannot determine how many deployments involved factory contracts, repeated launches or automated activity.

During the same period, average daily active addresses declined 14% to 2.10 million from 2.43 million. New addresses fell 27%, averaging 482,000 per day, while quarterly transactions grew 7.5% to 1.51 billion.

The report attributed much of the transaction growth to specific applications. Prediction market Predict.fun processed 45.3 million transactions, compared with 2.2 million in Q2, accounting for approximately 40% of the quarter’s net transaction increase.

Trading router GMGN, LiFi and MEV bots contributed another 45 million transactions between them. Average transactions per active address climbed to 7.8 daily from 6.3, showing more activity among the addresses that remained active.

Token launchpads contributed substantial automated activity. Combined token creation nearly tripled to 2.59 million launches, led by Flap with 2.02 million tokens and Four.meme with 568,000. The report does not directly attribute those launches to AI agents.

BNB Agent Studio adds payments and wallet controls

Launched July 1, BNB Agent Studio allows developers to describe an AI agent through a prompt and deploy it to BNB Smart Chain with an identity and wallet.

The platform shipped four versions during Q3, adding paid data access through x402, agent earnings, TypeScript support and wallet controls. Subsequent releases introduced Turnkey’s policy engine, which can require human approval for transactions above specified thresholds, and NodeOps deployment without a separate cloud account.

By early October, BNB Smart Chain recorded 330,604 ERC-8004 agent registrations, representing approximately 61% of the 544,574 registrations tracked across networks.

As crypto.news previously reported on AI agents, registrations do not necessarily represent independently operating applications. Test deployments and demonstration projects may register identities without generating sustained economic activity.

BNB Chain’s earlier AI agent expansion had already attracted substantial attention during the first half of 2026. The latest quarterly figures provide evidence of additional registrations, but not the number of agents earning revenue or completing paid transactions.

Tokenized stocks drive BNB Chain’s Q3 financial growth

AI development formed one part of a quarter dominated financially by tokenized asset trading.

The Blockworks report recorded approximately $25.6 billion in tokenized-equity trading, compared with $2.4 billion in Q2. Decentralized exchanges generated $24.4 billion of that activity, while Ondo Global Markets accounted for $1.2 billion.

As previously covered in the Q3 results, BNB Chain finished September with $1.13 billion in tokenized-equity supply, approximately twice its Q2 level, and 1.8 million tokenized-equity holders.

Network revenue, measured through transaction fees and MEV payments, climbed 54% to $54.2 million. Transaction fees contributed $49.1 million, while MEV payments supplied $5.1 million.

GMGN’s router generated $8.8 million in fees, compared with $2.2 million in Q2. The additional $6.6 million represented more than one-third of the network’s quarterly increase in transaction fee revenue.

BNB Chain activity faces questions over deployment quality

BNB Chain’s deployment figures are not directly comparable with Solana’s program counts, because Solana applications can reuse deployed programs across many accounts. Comparable Q3 figures for Base and Solana would require consistent definitions and reporting periods.

The report identified other mixed network readings. Stablecoin supply declined 4.6% to $13.22 billion, despite a 31% increase in decentralized stablecoin swap volume.

Meanwhile, the August 25 Pasteur upgrade improved block capacity, with its new block-building system producing approximately 98% of blocks within a week and averaging 28% more gas per block.

BNB Chain’s remaining 2026 roadmap includes a dedicated payment lane, potential gas-limit increases beyond 70 million and a next-generation blockchain testnet targeted before year-end.
